March 16, 2010 - Diederik Verdult, a long-time loyal supporter of Peduli Anak, generated donation for more than 2000 Euros through a play he produced called "Verblind". The play was performed on the 22nd of January 2010 in the theatre building of RSG 't Rijks, one of the local secondary schools of Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands. Just like their previous productions, the money raised from ticket sales goes to charity. This time Diederik decided to help Peduli Anak to hire teachers for our new school.
When being asked about his motivation to support us, Diederik said, "Peduli Anak is a small organization with a major role. I have better feeling supporting a small organization like Peduli Anak rather than a big foundation like for example Dutch Heart Foundation, which I also support. Furthermore I personally find it very good to hire qualified teachers for Peduli Anak children from the money we raised. Good education is the most important thing for the children in order to achieve a good independent future."
This is not the first time for this seventeen-year-old boy to raise money for Peduli Anak. Two years ago Diederik and his uncle rode on their bikes and headed to Barcelona. From that action Diederik collected 800 euros for Peduli Anak.
In addition to the income from the ticket sales, people can also buy the dvd of the play and the money will also go to Peduli Anak. "I always have great feeling after helping Peduli Anak because I know that the money is well spent for the benefits of their children," answered the high school boy about being a loyal supporter of Peduli Anak. Diederik has shown us that young people can definitely make a difference. Those who have everything in their life should help other people who have almost nothing. Thank you, Diederik! We look forward to your next move.
